Can you think of the US not having free and public education? Why should health care be any different?

Mysteries of Adolescence
I have always found the adolescent to be a mystery and how to get them motivated is the biggest mystery of all. Sometimes I think that spinning plates on sticks while juggling might work but even that's getting old. Maybe I need to be a movie blockbuster action hero or maybe I should just tweet my lessons and post homework on Facebook. There seems to be no clear answer and no matter what I try there is always at least one adolescent that’s unhappy.

All is Fair in Lust and War (excerpt 2)
When we got to Jacob and Paul’s we knocked but there wasn’t an answer. The door was unlocked so we walked in. This place looked like an absolute disaster. There were people laying everywhere. Beer cans were thrown about the room. The ice luge had melted and left a huge puddle on the floor. Some poor sap was laying in it. The whole apartment reeked of beer, which didn’t help my hangover. We stepped over people and made our way to Jacob’s room. His door was half open so I pushed it. I was surprised to see Jacob sleeping on the couch and the chunky brunette girl was sleeping in his bed. “Well, her she is,” I said. She went over to wake her friend up and I went into the bathroom to see if Jamie was still alive. He moaned a little when I opened the shower curtain, yep still alive. I went to Jacob’s room and the brunette was sitting up rubbing her head saying, “What the hell happened to you?” The blonde said, “Don’t worry about it. We gotta’ get you home.” I walked them both out to their car. The brunette passed out again as soon as she sat down in the passenger seat. The blonde and I were both standing next to the driver side door and she turned to me, wrapped her arms around my shoulders and neck, smiled and gave me the look. Ohh shit! I’m not sure how many times I’ve thought that but I’m sure I’ll be thinking it some more. She closed her eyes and pulled me in. Noooooooooo! The goodbye kiss, can it get any worse? She slowly pulled back and handed me a sheet of paper. I knew exactly what it was, a phone number and to back up what I thought she said, “Call me.”
“I will,” I said with my fingers crossed.
“Bye Cal.”
Shit how the hell did she know my name?
“Bye.”
She got into the car not letting her eyes leave mine. She strapped on her seat belt, started the car, she backed out and soon she was gone. A sigh of relief came over me. I stood there in the parking lot for a moment. Man what a night. I flipped open the piece of paper. “Ashley 768-9087” ‘Ashley,’ I thought. Then I tore up the piece of paper and threw it on the ground. Thank god that’s over.
